Hello! ✿
My name is Caryn and I'm from sunny Southern California. I'm a PhD student studying environmental health by day and a small artist (and creator of the Tofu Pals) by night. I love to create illustrations, enjoy cooking, and love to spread awareness about environmental and public health.
When I first began thinking about an art account/small business, I knew I wanted to create original characters that really resonated with me. I wanted unique characters that would allow me to share about different Asian cultures, as well as my own background (teochew/hokkien) and upbringing (first-generation in the US). After many brainstorming sessions and input from family and friends, I decided to create characters inspired by Asian tofu dishes~ And thus, the Tofu Pals were born :)
It's been a little over a year since I started this journey, and I am so grateful to everyone that has joined me on this adventure. Thank you so much for your support! ♡
